When do Covid Antibodies levels develop and what does this test tell me?

Covid Antibody Response.jpg

You will see from the above graph produced by Roche Diagnostics that antibody levels can go up from anytime after the first week after infection.

IgM and IgG levels are both different type of antibody and hence go up and down after infection at different rates. The IgM level usually starts to subside within 3-5 weeks of infection but an IgG level can remain elevated for many months following infection.

The SPIKE protein antibody level allows us now to assess the immune response following vaccination and we are able to also track your antibody levels following the first dose of vaccine, second dose of vaccine and beyond this. We recommend not doing the SPIKE antibody level until at least 2 weeks after you have been vaccinated in order to get the best idea of how strong your antibody response has been to the vaccine.

If you have any more specific questions on which antibody test is the right one for you please do not hesitate to call us on 0203 488 4415 or email care@one5.health and we will reply back to you with some guidance.
